THE WONDROUS GARLIC CLOVE!!

Some Easy Recipes for Garlic Use in the Flu Season

Garlic is well known to combat the flu and help ward off upper respiratory infectons.

Here are two SIMPLE WAYS to use garlic to help throughout the flu season:

GARLIC VINEGAR (OXYMEL)

Peel and crush several cloves of garlic. Let stand about 10-15 minutes.  Then immerse io about 2 cups of organic cider viengar and let stand in a jar in a cool dark place for about 2 weeks.  It is best to cover with a plastic lid or flim and shake once in a while to help out (avoid metal lids).  Once it is steeped enough, strain the garlic from the vinegar and add honey to taste (about 1/8 cup or so).
Take as a preventative during flu season (one or two tablespoons once or twice a day) or if you feel you are coming down with something.

GARLIc-INFUSED OIL

Take 2 heads of garlic, peel all the cloves and crush, then let stand for about 10-15 minutes. Immerse in about 2 cups of olive oil (or coconut oil - I favor coconut oil myself).  Warm stlightly and keep warm for 24-48 hours. I use a mini-crockpot for this but other methods will work, just do NOT cook up the oil.  Drain the oil and keep in a cool place for later use.   Apply to the chest if cough of respiratory infection is present. A tiny bit will suffice. You can rub into the skin front and back and then wrap yourself (or the ill person) in warm clothing, such as a cotton shirt plus flannel pjs or a wool sweater or robe.  Best to do before retiring at night.
